About Hassene JELJELI

Born in Tunis in 1991, Hassene Jeljeli is a trained architect and self-taught designer working at the intersection of architecture, design, and light. After graduating from the National School of Architecture and Urbanism of Tunis, he founded JK Lighting in 2018  a creative journey inspired by his father’s legacy and developed as a laboratory for material and formal research.

Alongside his design practice, he works as an architect and founded Jeljeli Studio in 2023, a multidisciplinary practice dedicated to architecture, interior design, and spatial projects. Across scales and disciplines, his work explores reclaimed marble, perforated steel, and poetic assemblages, revealing a sculptural language where light itself becomes matter.

A finalist of the IMA Design Prize in Paris (2024) and a two-time exhibitor at  Milan Design Week (2024 & 2025), Jeljeli develops a minimalist yet narrative-driven aesthetic rooted in personal stories and local craftsmanship.

Based in Tunis, Jeljeli embraces an intuitive and engaged approach, deeply connected to his Mediterranean territory while remaining resolutely international. His work has been exhibited at Paris Design Week, at Musk and Amber Gallery, and featured in leading media such as Designboom, Monocle, La Repubblica, Jeune Afrique, Architizer, and Huffington Post Maghreb.
